Deep red, velvety flowers with yellow centers have individual petals edged in a frilly rim of orange. Blooming starts in July and continues until frost on softly mounding 30-50 cm plants.  This is the French marigold often used for nematode control and it has the added benefit of attracting benefical  insects. Seed was collected by flower seed collector Bob Bell in 1992  outside a school in Tashkent, Uzbekistan and was released in North America in 1999 by the Seed Savers Exchange. Prefers sun. Annual
