Sweet Pea - Painted Lady
Exquisite fragrance and delicate bi-colour flowers make this old fashioned sweet pea a favorite in the garden or in containers. The soft rose-pink and cream flowers come from a chance mutation of the first sweet pea found in the wilds of Scicily. Tall vines can reach 2m and appreciate some mesh to cling to. Heat tolerant for a sweet pea and one of the first to bloom. Just a couple of stems in a vase will fill your house with the heady fragrance and the more flowers you cut the more the plant will bloom. Dates back to the 1700’s.
