Thyme

Thyme can be direct seeded outdoors when the soil is warm or started indoors 4-6 weeks before your last frost date. Lightly press tiny seeds into moist soil and cover very lightly with screened soil or fine vermiculite. Water sparingly as seedlings prefer dry conditions. Once the plants have a few sets of leaves, pinch or shear them back to encourage branching. Harvest leaves from new growth from midsummer on. Tastes great fresh or dry. Wonderful bee plant.
