Peas
Sow peas in a well-drained area as soon as the soil can be worked in the spring. Seed thickly in a 10 cm band spacing seeds about 2.5 cm apart and 1.5-2.5 cm deep. Do not thin as peas like company. Bacterial inoculant will increase yields. Tall varieties will need twine or mesh to support them. Provide pea brush (twiggy branches stuck in the soil) for shorter varieties to climb on for easier picking. Pick often to keep productive and try not to eat them all while picking. Peas are at their sweetest in cool weather so spring and fall crops are possible. Sow fall crops about 2 months before first fall frost.
