Hollyhock

Start indoors 8 weeks before last frost or direct seed outdoors when soil has warmed. Press seed lightly into soil surface and keep moist until germination occurs. Transplants should go into the garden early so they can develop a tap root in their permanent location. Space plants to allow for good air circulation to help discourage rust, a fungal disease that attacks hollyhocks.
