Flavourful, meaty paste tomatoes stewarded by the Cipolla family since 1906. The original seeds were brought to Brooklyn, NY from Sicily by Emilio Cipolla and have since been grown for decades on the family’s homestead in Connecticut . Emilio’s great grandson Larry has continued to select for flavour and size and has sent the seed out into the seed world for all of us to enjoy. The fruits are quite large with many weighing in at just under a lb. (454g) The flesh is nice and dry with few seeds so it readily cooks down into a delicious sauce. This is gem is a wonderful example of why we should save seed.
