Andropogon gerardii. One of the dominant grasses in Ontario's tallgrass prairie. This warm season, sun loving grass reaches 150 cm or more and produces distinctive three-part seed heads that resemble a turkey foot. The foliage turns a spectacular mix of red orange and bronze colours in the fall and can be left standing for winter interest. Hardy to zone 3 and tolerant of most soil types.
