One of our growers received a bulb of this unnamed garlic in a shipment one year and decided to plant it. The extreme vigour and large bulb size was a nice surprise and they have been growing it for over 5 years now. Turns out it is a marble purple stripe which is very cold tolerant and grows well even in zone 3.  The flavour is strong and spicy when raw but mellows our a bit when baked. Easy to peel making it a joy in the kitchen.  Try this one if you are interested in bulking up your garlic patch quickly.
