Poppy - Giant Rattle Breadseed Poppy

Huge, fat, round, blue-grey seed pods are filled with edible black poppy seeds which rattle around the dried pod and give this flower its name. White flowers with pink centres are followed by 7-8cm seed pods.  Cut the seed pods and hang to dry for use in winter arrangements and use the dried seeds for baking or sprinkling on salads and greens.  Plants love sun and well drained, not too fertile soil. They will self seed freely if happy.
