This lovely garlic comes to us from our friends at Sunny Island Farm. It came to them as an un-named purple stripe and they thought it was virtually identical to Persian Star except that the bulbs are consistently much larger. So much so that they consider it a “superior Persian Star” and named it Superstar. This is a great example of what Purple Stripe garlics have to offer with vivid colours, a rich, strong taste, and large easy to peel cloves. It is a mid-season garlic that matures around the same time as the porcelains. However, because it has many layers of skin that don't easily decay, it tolerates being left in the ground longer than the Porcelains or Marbled Purple Stripes. We think you’ll really like this one.
