Sunflower, Mexican aka Tithonia 'Torchlight'
This amazing plant just keeps giving. It is one of the top nectar plants for butterflies bees and other pollinators. Hummingbirds visit all summer long and Monarchs on their fall migration load up on the abundant nectar. Next come the goldfinches and sparrows who like to chow down on the seeds. To top it all off the brilliant orange flowers make great cut flowers and bloom mid-summer till frost. This is a tall, robust plant that is at home in the back of the garden or try it as a fast growing outdoor screen. It can reach 150-170 cm. Easy to grow with no serious pest problems.
