Sweet Pea - Old Spice Mix

Thankfully this gorgeous scented old variety was resuscitated before lathyrus breeders pushed it out of the trade. These annual sweet peas are a mix of the most heat tolerant, fragrant heirloom varieties. Sow early in the spring, as soon as the soil can be worked. I like to dig a trench and fill it with my best compost then sow my sweet pea seed on either side of it so the roots can tap in to the fertility as they grow. Cut regularly to encourage the heavenly scented flowers. Bring a few flowers in the house and sit back, inhale and prepare for bliss.
