Fenugreek
An ancient herb often grown for its medicinal properties Fenugreek is also a powerhouse in the kitchen. Fresh green leaves are used to season curries and dals while the slightly nutty tasting seeds are ground and added to spice mixtures or used whole to season pickled vegetables. Easy to grow plants reach .75 m and prefer a sunny location. Has been used historically to make a yellow dye for colouring wool.
