Growing Instructions

When to Sow:
Start indoors 4–6 weeks before last frost or direct sow after danger of frost.

How to Sow:
Sow seeds 0.5 cm (¼") deep in moist soil. Keep warm (20–22 °C) until germination.

Germination:
5–10 days in warm, bright conditions.

Thinning & Spacing:
Thin or transplant to 25–30 cm (10–12") apart for full, branching plants.

Growing Conditions:
Full sun and well-drained soil. Tolerates heat and light drought.

Care:
Deadhead spent blooms for continuous flowering. Excellent in borders and containers.

Harvest:
Cut fresh blooms regularly for bouquets or dry for natural confetti.

A radiant orange, single-flowered marigold selected by John Ambrose of Swallow Haven Farm with pollinators in mind. John noticed that the extremely ruffled flowers of many marigolds make it difficult for pollinators to get to the nectar and pollen they need so he began selecting his marigolds for single flowers. After several years of selection John gave us seed for this Swallow Haven Single marigold and now we can offer it to you. This species of marigold is native to Mexico and Guatemala and produces strong, branching plants with a long bloom season and a light, classic marigold scent. Perfect for your pollinator garden. Easy to grow and a pollinator magnet.
